Sharpen your design eye while exploring the process of creating mugs, bowls, and vase forms with hand building techniques including slab, coil, and pinch methods. Apply fundamental design principles and color theory to your surface design additions and use texture tools, incising lines, and painting color shifts to emphasize each vessel’s unique characteristics. Build skills in the use of bisque molds and creating your own texture making tools. A brief overview of terra sigillata making and application to bone dry pots will be included and each student will go home with two types of terra sigillata to continue testing at home.
